How can an IT company prove they're not going to get hacked?

I’ve been seeing a lot of IT providers getting hacked… and that allows the hackers access to all of their clients. Is there a way I can be sure I’m using an IT company that this won’t happen to?

Great question! It’s actually hard to tell from the outside how secure an IT provider is. As of right now there are no official requirements or compliance standards for an IT company’s security practices.

That said, it falls on the IT company to prove to you, the end user, that they’re taking every measure possible to protect both themselves and their clients.

Heiden has taken a huge step in that direction by earning our TISC-2020 certification through a third-party cybersecurity verification company called MSP Overwatch™. Their sole purpose is to objectively evaluate the security practices of IT providers and issue certifications to those who are using the right tools, observing the best practices, and maintaining a high level of internal security.

This is not an easy certification to get! In fact, Heiden Technology Solutions is currently the only provider in Michigan to hold a TISC-2020, and one of only a handful throughout the entire country.

Best way is to make sure they are performing a security accreditation to prove they are going through all the appropriate motions.  This way their controls are getting audited by an independent source that ensures they are taking all the appropriate precautions.
